I dropped into Monkey Go Happy Elevators 2 the other day expecting something quick, but before I knew it I was clicking through floor after floor trying to crack each little puzzle. The premise’s simple: our little sad monkey is stuck in a bank of elevator shafts, and it’s up to you to find what he needs to cheer up. Each level hides something you have to spot or a tiny contraption you need to fix, and as soon as you see that monkey smile, it’s oddly satisfying.

What I really liked was how each shaft felt distinct without overcomplicating things. One level might have you fishing a coin out of a vent with a sketchy magnet, while the next asks you to swap gears on an old machine. Nothing ever felt like too much of a head-scratcher, but there’s just enough brain-teasing to keep you invested. Plus, the little animations—like the monkey bouncing when you grab a hidden key—are delightfully goofy.

The art style leans into bright, chunky colors, and the backgrounds change enough to make you curious about what you’ll find next. A soft, almost lullaby-ish soundtrack hums along in the background, so even if you’re stuck for a moment you’re never stressed out. Clicking sounds and small celebratory jingles when you solve something keep the mood light throughout.

I’ve replayed a couple of levels just to see if I’d missed any secret interactions, and it’s nice that every floor offers a new twist rather than recycling the same idea. It’s the kind of little diversion you can pick up for five minutes or settle into for longer without worrying you’ll feel cheated. All in all, it’s a quick trip through elevator-themed puzzles with enough charm to keep me coming back for just one more floor.
