Free Rally 2 (Drive Anything)
About Free Rally 2 (Drive Anything)
When I first hopped into Free Rally 2 (Drive Anything), I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it instantly felt like someone had handed me the keys to a playground full of cars, trucks, and way too many ramps. The way each vehicle reacts to bumps and turns is a bit floaty, sure, but that’s part of the charm—it never takes itself too seriously. You press forward, the engine roars, and suddenly you’re skidding off-road with a grin plastered on your face.
What really keeps me coming back is the variety in vehicles. You’ve got your standard rally car, obviously, but then there’s a school bus, a chunky old pickup, even a forklift if you’re feeling mischievous. Each one handles differently: the truck feels like it’s on stilts, the bus sways like a boat, and the tiny rally car darts around corners as if it’s on rails. Switching from one to another in the same map is like rediscovering the terrain all over again.
Speaking of maps, they’re not sprawling open-worlds by any stretch, but they’re packed with enough ramps, loops, and rocky inclines to keep you experimenting for hours. I’ve found myself trying to launch off a ramp just right to clear a cluster of trees, or see how far I can drift around a hairpin turn without flipping. It’s in these small challenges—untimed and totally optional—that the game really shines.
At the end of the day, Free Rally 2 isn’t about racing other players or chasing world records; it’s about messing about behind the wheel and finding new ways to break your own sense of “this shouldn’t be possible.” It’s perfect for a short break or a longer session when you just want to unwind with something silly. Give it a spin and you’ll see exactly what I mean.
