Boyfriend Reaches the Music World
Friday Night Funkin’: CG5 Edition puts musician CG5 directly into a Friday Night Funkin’ battle. Boyfriend has reached the big leagues of music and needs to prove that he belongs there. CG5 takes the place normally held by Daddy Dearest during Week 1 and becomes Boyfriend’s musical opponent.
The change goes beyond replacing one character sprite. The mod gives Week 1 its own music, artwork, backgrounds, and theme.
OR3O also appears in the Girlfriend role. The tutorial receives a CG5 remix with OR3O taking part in it. The title screen also has its own remix.
These changes make CG5 Edition feel like a complete music-themed version of the opening part of Friday Night Funkin’.
Three CG5 Songs
The classic version of Friday Night Funkin’: CG5 Edition includes three main Week 1 songs. They are “Gimme a Break,” “Man on Stilts,” and “Knock Knock.” Each song has charts for different difficulty settings.
The songs do not simply copy Daddy Dearest’s original Week 1 tracks. CG5 performs his own music while Boyfriend answers through the usual FNF vocal notes.
“Gimme a Break” starts the main set. “Man on Stilts” follows with a different pace. “Knock Knock” finishes the group with a more direct musical face-off.
Players can also hear the custom tutorial before entering the main songs. This gives the mod its own sound from the start.
Following CG5’s Note Patterns
The controls work like traditional Friday Night Funkin’. Notes rise toward the arrow markers. The player presses the matching direction at the correct time. A clean sequence pushes the battle in Boyfriend’s favor. Too many mistakes move the health bar the other way.
Each difficulty changes the amount and speed of notes. New players can learn the songs on an easier setting before trying harder charts.
CG5 Edition keeps its idea simple. It takes a real musician, turns him into an FNF opponent, and builds a themed Week 1 around his songs. The CG5 character art, OR3O appearance, custom backgrounds, remixed tutorial, and three-song set make it much more than a basic character swap.
