Info About Champion Island

Picture this: Google creates this amazing interactive browser game called Doodle Champion Island Games, and it’s a full-blown celebration of the Olympics, released back in July 2021. You get to play as Lucky, this super adorable calico cat athlete, who arrives on Champion Island – a vibrant, bustling world that’s just packed with things to do. There are seven different sport mini-games to master, legendary opponents to challenge, and tons of little side quests to discover. Your big adventure? To take on each sport’s unique Champion, collect all seven of their sacred scrolls, and uncover all the hidden challenges scattered across this beautifully designed island.

The game world itself is this sprawling, beautifully crafted island where you can try your hand at a whole bunch of Olympic-style mini-games. We’re talking table tennis, skateboarding, archery, rugby, artistic swimming (which is like synchronized swimming), sport climbing, and even a marathon! Each of these mini-games is themed around sports that were actually featured in the Olympics, and they all have their own unique gameplay mechanics that are fun to learn. To make it even cooler, the game features these awesome anime-styled cutscenes and pays a really charming homage to those classic 16-bit Japanese video games and a lot of Japanese culture in general.

To add a bit of friendly competition, you can join one of four color teams – Red, Blue, Yellow, or Green – and your scores in the mini-games contribute to a real-time global leaderboard, so you feel like you’re part of a bigger event! The game’s rich narrative, woven together with its super engaging gameplay across all those different sports, and all the cool cultural references, makes for a deeply immersive experience. It’s a wonderful celebration of both athletic achievement and fascinating Japanese folklore, all wrapped up in a playable Google Doodle!
