Portal of Doom: Undead Rising is a first-person horror shooting game set on a space station in the year 2177. You play as a private security contractor who receives a distress call from the station and decides to investigate.
Something has gone badly wrong. The station once carries out experiments, but its halls now contain monsters, strange creatures, spiders, and zombie-like enemies. Instead of finding a normal crew waiting for help, you enter a dangerous maze filled with locked doors and signs of a disaster.
The game gives you 33 levels to explore. Your main task is to discover what happened and find a way out alive.
You move with the W, A, S, and D keys or the Arrow keys. The mouse controls where you look. Use the left mouse button to shoot and the right button to aim.
Search Rooms Instead of Only Shooting
Portal of Doom: Undead Rising does not turn every problem into a gunfight. Exploration also matters.
Some doors need hidden keys. You have to search rooms and corridors carefully instead of running straight toward the next enemy. Portable data devices appear around the station as well. Reading them gives you information about the experiments and helps explain what happened before you arrived.
Press F to pick up useful objects. R reloads your weapon. The mouse wheel lets you switch between weapons.
The game includes five different weapons. Saving stronger firepower for dangerous creatures can help when several enemies appear close together.
Watch for Portals and Hidden Threats
The station becomes stranger as the investigation continues. Portals connect the disaster to another dimension, and the creatures you meet go far beyond ordinary zombies.
Running with the Shift key can help you escape trouble. You can also crouch, lie down, jump, and use a close-range attack. These actions give you more choices when moving through tight areas.
Dark rooms and narrow corridors make it important to check your surroundings. A creature can appear before you have much room to react.
