Escape the Dungeon and Defeat Your Nemesis

Dungeon of Numenas is a short retro platform game where your enemy Numenas has trapped you inside a dungeon. Escaping requires more than simply reaching the far end. Special orbs are hidden throughout the dungeon, and each one grants an ability that becomes useful during the adventure. You eventually need those powers when it is time to confront Numenas.

The game uses a compact 8-bit style and focuses on straightforward platform movement. Its small scale makes every new ability feel important.

Run Through the Dungeon and Find the Orbs

Use the Left and Right Arrow keys to move. Press C or Z to jump.

Those controls are simple, but the dungeon contains platforming challenges that require accurate jumps.

Exploration also matters because the scattered orbs are not just collectibles for a higher score. They give you special powers. Missing an important one can leave you without an ability needed later.

This creates a clear reason to pay attention to each part of the dungeon instead of rushing straight ahead.

Prepare for Numenas

The real goal is reaching and defeating the enemy who trapped you. The final confrontation becomes much easier to understand once you learn how the collected abilities work.

Players familiar with the game note that the final fight has several patterns to learn. Once those patterns become familiar, the battle becomes much more manageable.

Try a Timed Run

The title screen also includes an optional timer. Press X there to turn it on or off.
